To all racers;

It's about that time of year again and I'm sure your all getting geared up for the 2004 version of the ET Finals, scheduled for September 9-12 at Mission Raceway Park in Mission, BC, Canada.

For hotel and dining information, please go to the Mission Raceway Park website at www.missionraceway.com and click on information.  There are a total of 19 local motels listed and I know for a fact that the Best Western Mission City Lodge is booked full, so try any of the others for rooms.

Gates will open at Mission on Wednesday at Noon and be open for competitors until 10PM.  They will open each remaining day at 7AM and will stay open Thursday until 10PM.

The event schedule will remain about the same as past years with a Test and Tune on Thursday from 11AM to 5PM.  Friday time trials will start at 9AM and we will run two rotations.  Saturday Time runs will begin at 9AM also, and the Race of Champions will begin after the first rotation.  As we get to the later rounds, we will try and get everyone a second time run (for those not in the ROC).  Sunday eliminations will begin at 9AM.

FYI, if any member of your track team has had any problems with the law (for those of you travelling into Canada from the US), you will want to contact the Canadian Consulate in Seattle as soon as possible to get their paperwork in order BEFORE trying to cross the border.  Also remind all your racers to have proof of citizenship ( a driver's license is not proof enough) with them in either the form of a birth certificate or valid passport.  This is needed more for coming back into the states, but you may be asked going into Canada as well and if you are asked you must provide it or be prepared to spend a couple hours with the Border Patrol.  Also remember no FIREARMS or drugs allowed, and there are limits on the amount of Alcohol and Tobacco products that you could bring into Canada.

Please make sure to also send your roster, team captains, and ROC lists to Mike Rice as soon as possible, but no later than September 3rd.  You can either e-mail them or fax  the lists at 253-826-4363.  If you would be so kind, also please send this info to Dean Murdoch at Speedzone Magazine as he will be doing an event program style issue of his magazine that will be available at the event.

Also don't forget the theme of the event is "Hawaiian Beach Party" and the track will be hosting a beach party and BBQ Saturday starting at 6PM in the tech area and along the river with games and live music.

If anyone has any questions, please give me a call or shoot me an e-mail.

Thank you and we look forward to seeing all of you at Mission,
Mike Rice ,Division 6 Director
