MRP WINS TRACK OF THE YEAR...again!

Awards Banquet Saturday night December 15.
(More coming soon)
Santa
Claus comes early to MRP
As another year comes to an end, the British Columbia
Custom Car Association Executive Board is happy
to announce a number of major improvements to the
track equipment for the 2008 drag racing season.
2008 will see a brand new sweep truck purchased
by BCCCA that will be on the property at all times,
attending to clean ups much quicker than in the
past.
"We had some major down time due to clean
ups in 2007" said BCCCA president Bryan Nawyn.
"Dave of Sticks n Stones has been great to
us over the years, but the time has come for us
to have our own equipment."
In addition to the new sweep truck, the tire dragger
is being reconfigured. "The contact point was
too small" said Race Director Wally Duperon.
"It's being rebuilt by Glen May's crew with
a larger area that will not only put down more rubber,
but not wear out as quickly."
Another welcome addition will be a scraper attachment
for the track Bobcat tractor that will speed up
track prep as well as make life much easier for
track workers.
These three new and improved pieces will supplement
the jet dryer, our sweep tractor, and many other
pieces of equipment, making MRP one of the best
equipped drag strips on the west coast. The surface
will benefit, workers will have it better, and most
of all, downtime will be reduced.
Look for more changes and improvements coming soon
to Mission Raceway Park, our 2008 schedule is almost
complete and will be posted asap.
