HD video of some wild
weekend highlights includes (in order):
"I thought I was gonna crash it" were Neil Lachelt's
words after his wild first run. Then his son comes back and shows
the old man how it's done with a 6.63/204.87.
In a final round preview, Doorslammer winner Terry Langdon-Davies
stood that bad boy Willys up bigtime on the first qualifier beside
eventual runner-up Jeff Hill.
Then we have another couple of hits from Chris Murphy in one of
the craziest Camaros to ever turn at tire here at MRP.
Ken Sihota is up next in his new Firebird layin' down the best
run of his career beside Layne Wooley and yet another NW Pro Street
contender is born.
Right after that the quickest run Rash Dhaliwal has ever made,
but he hurt the little Ford. Hopefully he will be able to make SCSN.
Next is Nanaimo's Brent Murray in Hugh Ridley's TAD running his
first five before one more lap from Murphy's Camaro.
It was a bad way to end 2008 for Don Wilson as his little A100
Austin took off to another blazing run beside Lynn Siemens. Though
it looks like something broke, word from Don was "I just lost
it". A tough break for one of the real nice guys out there,
in a car once run at the original Mission Raceway called 'Fatboy's
Folly'.
Ok, then we just had to give ya one more of Chris Murphy leading
to Victoria's Peter Wille in the baddest four speed Hemi Cuda on
Earth on a cool, crisp morning beside the Ford of Rory McNeil.
Looks like he's ready to defend that title in Vegas in a few weeks
as Dale Moznik took that ten five Camino out for the quickest and
fastest ride of it's life. Brother Roy was here as well running
'just motor' mid sevens in the former Bad Bob car.
Keith Vahle on his best pass ever at the wheel of his hard-hookin'
street legal S10, and we'll bring it on home with Lachelt's and
Murray's personal bests before we end it with Darren Dilley bustin'
up a rare (and pricey) early beetle headlamp lens with Canada's
quickest bug.

Martin
Dykstra won today's Aerospace Components King of the Track. In a
race consisting of today's winners in Super Pro, Pro, Sportsman
and Motorcycle, Sportsman winner Dykstra had a single in the final
round when Martin Rachel (Super Pro winner) could not make the call
after apparent head problem in his Malibu. The other two competitors
were Dan Temple (motorcycle) and Chris Stone (Pro).
In the other categories Tyler Smith won Junior, and
Larry Rhodenizer took Hot Rod. Complete results and final points
tomorrow. Today's winners also get jackets from Gasoline
Alley.

Darren Dilley did this to Canada's quickest VW twice
today!

As did Chris Murphy trying to qualify for the RJ Enterprises
Canada West Doorslammer non-points race that'll see one more qualifier
tomorrow morning before they begin eliminations approx. noon. And
stand by later in the week for a video highlight package of all
this and much more. Thanks to the fabulous weather the hook here
is amazing, and we'll have the video to prove it!
